La Cazuela, San Rafael: the deep pool on the Boquerón creek
A stone pot full of green water, hence the name. La Cazuela is one of the easiest pools to reach because it sits by the entrance to town, but it is not one of the shallow ones.

What it is like
Oriente Antioqueño describes La Cazuela as a pool on the Boquerón creek, about 10 minutes before you reach town, between 5 and 7 meters deep. It is good for diving from the rocks, and for that same reason you need to be a confident swimmer: there is no large shallow area.
One lodging listing places Hotel Club Paradise a kilometer from the La Cazuela swimming spot, which shows how close it is to the hostería area.
La Isleta and the Golondrinas cave
Following the creek, about 20 minutes on, you reach La Isleta, and further along the La Golondrina pool, with a cave where swallows nest. It is a walk along the streambed, so it goes better with a guide and water shoes. La Cueva de Morgan also offers hikes along the Boquerón creek with local partners.
How to get there
If you come by bus from Medellín, you can ask the driver to drop you before entering town; if you are already at the main square, a motorbike taxi gets you there in minutes. Bus times are in getting there from Medellín.
To compare with a pool with flatter access, see El Trocadero. For even clearer water, La Oscura is on the border with Guatapé. All of them are together in San Rafael river pools.
